Johnsons Dwarf French Bean Tendergreen Seeds, Popular, well established variety with excellent flavour and fleshy pods. Make an early and late sowing for the longest harvest. In hot weather mist with tepid water in the evening to help the pods set.
For indoor sowing When April to May. Where In pots of moist compost. How Sow one or two seeds per pot. Cover with 2.5cm of fine compost. Cover pots with glass or polythene. Firm gently and keep moist. Keep at approx. 15-20°C. Seedlings appear 7-14 days. Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. Stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts). Transplant seedlings 25cm apart in rows 45cm apart. Support with twigs in windy sites if necessary. Keep moist and weed free. Harvest June to October. Pick regularly to encourage further cropping. For outdoor sowing When May to early July. Where In a prepared seed bed, delay sowing if soil is cold or waterlogged. How Sow two seeds together 25cm apart, in rows 45cm apart. A reliable, well established, high yielding variety. The compact bushy plants produce superb crops of fleshy, round pods which are virtually stringless, especially when young. It is easy to produce a surplus which can then be frozen for long term storage.
